GNSO Translation and Transliteration of Contact Information PDP WG
The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) created a PDP Working Group to consider the need to translate and/or transliterate Contact Information of domain names. The Working Group (WG) has received initial feedback from the Community and is currently in the process of discussing the carious issues arising from the Charter. WG members will give a brief update of the current state of discussions to facilitate community participating during this face-to-face meeting.
Anyone interested in those aspects of translating and/or transliterating of contact information. Participants from countries with non-Latin scripts are especially welcome to share their views/experiences.
Community Outreach Event
Nominet Trust has supported Apps for Good since it launched in 2010. Back then, the programme supported less than 50 students. In this academic year, more than 17,000 young people have signed up for the Apps for Good course.
Each year the nationwide Apps for Good Awards competition attracts the top student app teams from across the UK to compete to have their apps launched commercially. ICANN delegates are invited to meet the eight 2014 Apps for Good winners while they develop their winning ideas with leading industry app developers. Delegates will have the opportunity to meet the winners and their teachers, hear about their ideas and find out more about this fantastic programme and the other projects Nominet Trust supports.
